Changed the story

Okay, so I know I've disappeared for a while, and yes I have copped a fair whack from some who followed the game's process.

Anyway, I've recently done a bit of patch work to the game to fix a few wounds and areas that just needed fixing, and in doing so have changed the plot of the game (that I believe to be original and exciting).

Below is the plot, read at your own risk:

After successfully defeating Mother Brain on Planet Zebes and infiltrating the Space Pirates Mother ship, stopping the exploitation of the Phazon and killing the Metroid Prime, overcoming Gorea even when against other Bounty Hunters that were all after the ‘Ultimate Power’, saving Planet Aether from the evil race Ing, destroying the Leviathan and assassinating Dark Samus including all Phazon in the universe, obliterating the Metroid species except for one which believed Samus to be her Mother, killing the Metroid Queen which was created from re-created Metroids, and then obliterating the dangerous X-species; Samus has done it all – and she’s got another mission.
A planet right at the back of the universe has disappeared off all the maps, all the radars, disappeared into thin air, and no one can explain why. Samus, under a new organisation after burning all remaining bridges with the Galactic Federation; is sent to investigate. The distance she has to travel, you may as-well say it’s far enough to get to Hell, and you know what – it just might be.

Demo coming and question...

Okay. The next demo is almost out. It's been a long, long time in the making, but it will be here soon. THE DEMO WILL BE IN MY NEXT POST. The reason it has taken this long has to do with many reasons, the main one's including: general laziness, lack of time, constant changing of Samus sprites, team communication etc etc.

And now, I have a question for everyone. Without asking anyone  I decided by myself to (as of present, but may change) to not use the 'Missile' sprite of Samus, and instead just have the same Samus sprite for regular 'beam' shots AND 'missile' shots.
What I would like to know is - Would people like to have that sprite, or do you not care?

I just haven't included it because I didn't really think it was too important...
Anyway, looking forward to your input!

What do you think?

Tell me what you think: Which Spore Spawn do you prefer? I'm sorry if I'm too forward here, but seriously, the Super Metroid one is SOOO much better, don't you agree?

Spore Spawn will be in my game, and I wanted to know which form people wanted to battle him/her in? Super Metroid style or Metroid: Zero Mission style? Depends which one you had most fun in, I guess...

ALSO, another question: Would people like to have a Chozo-statue battle? I think you could mix the Zero Mission and Super Metroid Chozo's so you could get an item off them, then recharge your items - THEN they come alive and you battle them? What do you think? Super Metroid-style Chozo battles, Metroid Zero Mission-style Chozo's (with no battle) or mixture of both?

Why No Screenshots :( :( :( :(

Arr! Nup, no screenshots yet...

I'm still in the middle of adding 'Samus' sprites. The two 100% fully completed suits are Power and Gravity. I am in the middle of adding Varia and Hyper sprites, but, I already have code in play for the Varia suit, but Game Maker does not recognise it and displays an "ERROR" message because most of the sprites aren't there...if that makes sense?

It is taking so long to complete the remaining suits because when I add each sprite, some of the frames are 'off balance' and the end result of the animated sprite is the sprite jumping from side to side or something. It then takes me a while to get the frames all in the same spot so it isn't moving around. I have to do this for each sprite.

Because of this, I will not post again on this blog for a while until I find a way to get around this quicker, or complete all of the sprites. It is a long process. Bear with me.

I know I've made some promises to post a demo or screenshots or something, and I constantly have a new excuse as to why I haven't posted them. I am sorry, but I am working hard. I'm definitely no genius in creating games, and am only making this game for my love of Metroid, not my love in game-making. Please, bear with me and stay supportive. If you need your 'Game-Maker Metroid fix' - head over to AM2R :) It's really cool, and definitely worth a visit!

So Close! Some changes

We are so very close to the end of school, soon (After November 15) this game will be very high on my priorities! :D

I have decided that I will make some changes, due to the time I will have to use on this game I thought some changes would be good. I am going to review my suits and decide how I like each one, and depending on the outcome I might change the suits graphically.
I am also thinking about going through some other movement engines, and maybe finding some neat ones that I can use or implement. I want the most fluent movements I can get.

Bear with me!
